“OCD is not the quirky person in the office”

Barbara Lloyd, 49, has fought a long-running battle with OCD all of her adult life.

She lost a job, a marriage and wasn’t able to leave her home for nine months, as the compulsions and obsessions reached new depths.

Victoria Pendleton, Olympic gold medalist reveals that she has also suffered from the condition, a fear of failure and of germs.

Joel Rose, director of OCD Action, says that OCD should be taken seriously and that cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) can make a positive difference to those who suffer from the disorder.
