national conference final

OCD Action National Conference – March 3rd – 2018

All the information you need for the national conference in March, including a 'what's on' and info about the day in general!

In just under a month’s time, we will be hosting our next National Conference in London, and tickets are selling fast!

Held on Saturday 3rd March from 9.45am-5pm (doors will open at 9am with refreshments provided) at the Holiday Inn Bloomsbury in London, the conference is set to be our most exciting event yet. It will be a brilliant opportunity to hear from OCD experts including Dr Amita Jassi and Rob Willson, and wonderful speakers including author Rose Bretécher.

Throughout the day there will also be a number of useful workshops where you can learn about how to tackle OCD for yourself or loved ones, interact with other people with OCD and share stories of hope and recovery. As well as all of this, we will be joined by many authors, artists and organisations that will be exhibiting their work for you and hosting fun, creative workshops. Even though the conference will be more generalised, there will be lots of fun and engaging things to do for the younger people in attendance (and under 16’s get in for free if accompanied by a paying adult!).

We are fortunate enough to be holding a special UK screening of the inspirational film ‘UNSTUCK: An OCD kids movie’ and some of the incredible children from the film will be flying all the way over from America to join us for a question and answer session! The short documentary highlights the difficulties and challenges faced when tackling OCD head on, but also the great rewards that facing your fears brings.

The Youth Advisory Panel  (YAP) will be holding an OCD Youth workshop later in the afternoon with some guest speakers, including author of The Goldfish Boy, Lisa Thompson, an update from Rich (Chair of the YAP) about plans for the future of OCD Youth as well as some fun activities that I won’t spoil by telling you here! There will also be a stall/stand at the conference where a member of the YAP will be based throughout the day if you have any questions or want to find out any more information about what’s going on at OCD Youth or if you have any worries or need support.

All of this is included in our very modest ticket price, and if you become a member today, you’ll receive a 20% discount on tickets (as well as lots of other exciting membership benefits).
