After the success of last years Thorpe Park Youth Meet-Up, we are pleased to announce our second get together: a fun day of bowling at MFA Bowl in Luton on Sunday 23rd March.

The event is aimed at under 18’s who suffer with OCD, along with parents/guardians, and serves as a chance to meet other like-minded people, as well as an opportunity to have some fun along the way. Even if bowling is not your thing, you are welcome to come along – eat, cheer and have a good time.

What people said last time

We received fantastic feedback from the Thorpe Park trip, with the general consensus being that it was great to meet fellow OCD suffers who understood the difficulties of the condition first hand. Here is what some of the attendees had to say about their day out at the theme park:

  • “I enjoyed meeting other people my age who were going through similar experiences as me and understanding what it is like living with OCD.”
  • “Meeting others with OCD and talking to them about the illness was a great help.”
  • “Everything from the friendliness (of the organisers) to the facilitated opportunity to make friends – it all made for an enjoyable day. I like how it was not overly OCD structured. A mention at the beginning and then it just naturally flowed if people wanted to talk about it.

Meeting new people

OCD is often described as being the “secret illness”. It is very easy to hide away, believing you are alone in your battle against a misunderstood condition – but believe us, you are not on your own. No one should suffer alone, and The OCD Action Meet-Up is a great opportunity to meet fellow sufferers and hopefully make some new friends. No judgement, no pressure – we just want you to have a great time.

Members of the OCD Action Youth Panel will also be on hand to help on the day, so please come say hello – we do not bite! We will be meeting at MFA Bowl in Luton at 11:30am and we expect to be there until approximately 4pm.
