Hi everyone,
Forum Moderator here!
Thank you all for using our forum- we hope you find this place to be a welcoming community for you to share your thoughts, feelings and experiences about OCD.
We wanted to inform you all of a few things about the forum.
Post Moderation:
Firstly, this forum is not moderated on a daily basis. All posts are read by the moderators before they appear on the page, this is part of our process to make sure we are keeping you safe when you use the forum. This is why sometimes it may seem like it takes a while for your post to appear. We hope you understand!
If, when you are creating a post, you are feeling unsafe, especially if you are thinking about self-harm or suicide and are in need of an immediate response it is important you contact a different service as this support can not be provided through the forum.
Crisis Support:
If you are feeling unsafe or feel you need immediate medical attention you should always call 999.
If you are in touch with a mental health team or CAMHS service, reaching out to them for support could be an important step.
If you would like to speak to someone in confidence about thoughts of suicide or self harm the Papyrus UK are a suicide prevention charity who work particularly with young people. They are available 9am-midnight offering a free confidential listening service to young people in distress. Their number is 0800 068 4141. You can also email them at: pat@papyrus-uk.org
Alternatively, there is also The Mix. This is another useful service for young people that are struggling with their mental health, they offer a text messaging support service.

Email support for OCD:
If you would like to email someone who understands OCD specifically you can also contact our youth helpline. The helpline is an information and support service, not a crisis service and they typically respond with 3-5 days.
We hope all this information is helpful.
With Best wishes,
Forum Moderation Team
