A message from Olivia…

Ever think you suffer alone with your OCD? Would you love the opportunity to meet other young people with similar problems to you? Do you like fun filled days out full of thrills and excitement? Then come to our big day out at Thorpe Park!

I used to suffer in silence. I hid behind my keyboard talking on forums about my OCD because I was embarrassed, thinking no-one apart from my family would understand. This was until I took part in the BBC3 documentary Extreme OCD Camp. Thanks to this experience, I was lucky enough to make five new best friends who know exactly where I was coming from when I spoke about my OCD. They have similar problems to me, and we talk daily about our experiences and our goals.

This is why I think you should come and join me, the OCD Action Youth Panel and other young people for our day out at Thorpe Park. It’s so important to have a great support network behind you whilst you’re going through your struggles, and by coming along to our big meet up day, you’ll meet fellow sufferers who you can share your experiences with.

Don’t be put off by the roller-coasters; if your OCD stops you from being able to join us on the rides, or roller-coasters just aren’t for you, why not come along anyway to meet fellow sufferers of OCD and chat about your experiences? There’s plenty to do at the theme park and our supportive team will be there to help you out should you need it.

So all you have to do is make your way to Thorpe Park by late morning (to be confirmed) and OCD Action will pay for your tickets into the park. Just bring along a packed lunch or some spending money for lunch. So what are you waiting for? If you are under the age of 18 and are interested in joining us on the 26th October 2013 for a day out at one of the UK’s largest theme parks, why not get in touch? Call Trish on 020 7253 5272, or email trish@ocdaction.org.uk with any inquiries you have.meet-up header
