Hello,
To begin with I’ve had OCD for about a year and a half, I was diagnosed by a therapist/ psychiatrist but I stopped going to her for multiple reasons and currently I have no therapist and no treatment. I’ve had my ups and downs and it’s just been really hard lately. My obsessions are starting to get into almost every hour and every minute of my life. I usually spend up to half of my day obsessing about things and the rest of the day they are still there but its usually just little obsessions in which I am able to cope with. But, my TOCD is getting really bad. I’ve always liked myself as a boy and never really thought of myself different as that and I always liked my penis and never had a problem with it. The other day though I was watching a girl singer perform and out of my head very randomly I thought, “What if you don’t want a penis” I automatically went into panic mode and started obsessing and started testing my fear in which I was told you should never do. I know I want to be a guy, but every little thing I do it’s like “What if you want to look like her” or “What if you always wanted to be a girl”. I’ve always looked at other guys and wanted to look like them and never wanted to look like a girl so this obsession scares me a lot Ever since that day a few days ago my TOCD has just became so much worse and I just need help. I’ve had this TOCD obsession for the past year but it’s been on and on. I thought I was over this fear until it started coming back around November time. Thank you for reading this.

Hey, I'm sorry to hear you're having a difficult time with your OCD at the moment. I understand you had therapy in the past – do you know if that was Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT)? CBT is the recommended treatment for OCD so it would be good if you could find a way to get a CBT therapist. Does that sound like something you can do?
