Hey,
So over the summer I was diagnosed by my therapist that I have OCD. Pure o or just OCD unknown since my compulsions have been lowering but my obsessions worsening. I was getting so much better over the summer, and then school came around and then my obsessions and compulsions came back. I have two known obsessions which is one of the two main obsessions in Pure O, I always fear that I might indirectly kill or harm someone and I often obsess if I’m gay or trans. These thoughts were lessening but they are starting to worsened again. I came to a point where I think I’m numb and it’s making me so scared. I just need some help, my parents think it’s all a lie, because I seem normal and my room isn’t “clean” so I don’t have OCD. I just need some help.

I'm sorry to hear you're suffering from OCD but well done for asking for help and seeing a therapist. Are you still working with them? Do you know what kind of therapy you're doing? The recommended treatment for OCD is called Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) and it has a good success rate.
CBT will involve you identifying how you react to your intrusive thoughts and putting a stop to those reactions. For example, you might react by going over and over all the reasons your thoughts can't really be true or by testing yourself for a reaction to people of the same sex to see if you're gay. You might avoid certain people or places, or ask for reassurance. Another common reaction is to look online for stories of people with OCD to try to reassure yourself your thoughts are part of OCD and not how you really feel. Does any of that sound familiar?
